Getting approved, in three steps

    Your BCBA assesses your child and writes the treatment plan. Then we file it with the right reviewer in Oklahoma — forms, follow-ups, and all.

    Coverage confirmed. Therapy starts.

    Once the plan signs off, sessions begin. Most families who qualify start within 2–3 weeks. Approvals renew on a schedule — we track it so you never think about it.

The contracted BCBA/provider submits a prior authorization to OHCA with a diagnostic evaluation and treatment plan; auths are granted in unit blocks for 1-6 months and reviewed by an OHCA reviewer, BCBA contractor and/or physician (OAC 317:30-5-314)

Private insurance has to help too

Not on Medicaid? Oklahoma’s autism insurance law makes state-regulated private plans cover autism care — you’d pay your plan’s normal deductible and copays. The rule on the books: Enacted 2016 (HB 2962); originally capped ABA at 25 hours a week and $25,000/yr through roughly age 9; the Oklahoma Insurance Department declared those caps violations of federal parity law in 2021 and required their removal by end of 2021

How to find an ABA therapist in Oklahoma

Searching for an ABA therapist in Oklahoma — or for autism therapy in Oklahoma, or autism services in Oklahoma, which turn up much the same list — gives you two different kinds of result: directories that list anyone who paid to be listed, and providers who can tell you what is actually open for your address. In-home ABA therapy in Oklahoma

Most ABA services in Oklahoma are delivered where the child already is — at home, in a classroom or daycare room, and over video for parent coaching. That is the model we run. Ask any provider which settings they can actually staff near you, not which ones appear on their website. Coverage is a staffing question, and the honest answer changes week to week.

What a BCBA in Oklahoma actually does

A BCBA — Board Certified Behavior Analyst — assesses your child, writes the treatment plan, sets the goals, and supervises the technicians who run the sessions. You should know the name of the BCBA in Oklahoma assigned to your case, how often they observe sessions in person, and how many cases they carry. You can verify any certificant yourself in the BACB registry.

Autism testing in Oklahoma

ABA is not the same appointment as a diagnosis. Autism testing in Oklahoma is done by a developmental pediatrician, child psychologist or child neurologist, and most health plans want that evaluation on file before they will authorize therapy. An autism evaluation in Oklahoma is a separate booking from therapy, with its own waitlist, so it is worth starting now rather than after you have chosen a provider. If your child is under three, early intervention autism services in Oklahoma will evaluate for free, without a diagnosis or a referral. What “best ABA therapy in Oklahoma” should mean

There is no ranking body, so nobody can honestly call themselves the best ABA provider in Oklahoma. What you can compare is specific: how quickly a BCBA does the first assessment, whether goals are written for your family’s actual routines, how much supervision each technician gets, whether you are told about turnover before a new face arrives, and whether the provider will put a realistic start date in writing. Those are answerable questions. “Best” is not.
